Today I created a Read-along with “Swimmy” by Leo Lionni, a book with astonishing artistry and an important message about problem solving and teamwork.
Using Goldfish crackers, we recreated how Swimmy teaches the school of fish to swim together like one giant fish.
Then I used a magic marker to color one Goldfish black to be Swimmy.
Next we combined an activity from Busy Toddler's Playing Preschool pets unit to practice counting, sorting and graphing Goldfish by color.
Snack time was never so much fun with the snack that smiles back!
